Rehearsals

During the academic semester, choir rehearsals are as follows:

Wheaton Chorale

Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:00-6:15 pm
Watson Fine Arts, Room 222
2 credits for 2 semesters participation

Chamber Singers

Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:15-7:15 pm
Watson Fine Arts, Room 222
2 credits for 2 semesters participation

Auditions

Auditions for Wheaton Chorale and Chamber Singers are held at the beginning of each semester. For the audition, students should prepare to sing any piece of their choosing that shows off their voice. If piano accompaniment is desired, students should bring sheet music to the audition. The audition also includes scales, a brief sight-reading exercise and melodic memory exercises. Candidates for Chamber Singers will be invited to participate in callback auditions. Contact Tim Harbold to schedule an audition.

Academic Credit

Students may elect to receive academic credit for participation in any large department ensemble. Ensembles award 2 credits for two semesters of participation. Students may register on WINDOW during official registration periods. All ensembles are listed under “Music Performance.” Registration in the second semester of the course is not automatic. Students should register for each semester of participation.

Any student may register for Chorale directly, but Chamber Singers is open by audition only. Interested students may register for “Audition for Chamber Singers.”

Community Members

The Wheaton Chorale periodically invites community members to join us for major works and special events.
