About
Concert Pianist and Professor of Music Leslie Amper teaches Wheaton piano students from beginner to advanced levels. She also offers workshops and master classes related to special department performances.
As a recipient of the Evelyn Danzig Haas ’39 Visiting Artist Program and the Herschbach Charitable Gift Fund, Professor Amper presented multimedia piano performances along with companion student performances on Creativity in Hard Times: The Federal Music Project of the 1930’s and Synesthesia in Music, Art, Literature, and Fashion.
Leslie Amper’s multimedia performances related to the visual arts have been sought after by museums and colleges nationwide including The National Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, Pittsburgh Frick, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Chautauqua Institution, California State University East Bay, University of Washington and Carnegie Mellon University. Other performances include Monadnock Virtuoso Piano Piano Series, Emmanuel Music, Pittsburgh Symphony at the Point and New Hampshire Music Festival.
Leslie Amper studied at Oberlin College and holds B.M. and M.M degrees “with distinction” from New England Conservatory. Her 10 years as a resident music tutor at Harvard University gave her an understanding of pursuing musical excellence along with a challenging academic schedule.
