About
Teaching Interests
I’m a marine invertebrate zoologist at heart, however, my curiosity extends to all living things. I am fascinated by marine invertebrates, in particular, the way that some animals that live in colonies cooperate, by sharing tasks and resources. I also study how people teach and learn biology, especially in hands-on settings such as field courses.
When I’m not in the lab or classroom, you can find me foraging for mushrooms, knitting, or playing the cello. I’ve even journeyed to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico in a submersible! I’m excited to connect with Wheaton students and explore our curiosity about the natural world.
