Business Experience

I retired from the corporate world in July 2013 from Hasbro Inc. as Vice President of Global Data Governance. I began working for Hasbro in 1985 and held positions in finance, operations planning, sales, sales administration, global operations, and data governance. I had global responsibilities and had staff located around the world.

While at Hasbro, I was also very involved with the global organization GS1. GS1 is the organization that sets standards for global business. This includes EDI and barcode standards. I was Vice Chair for the product variance group for several years as well as various committees relating to changes required within the toy industry.

Other work experiences include retail (CVS, Stop & Shop), service industry (Times Warner Cable), and manufacturing (Miller Industries).

My teaching interests include: Strategic Management, Principles of Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Cross-Cultural Management, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, International Management, Process Control and Planning, Contemporary Business, Marketing, Organizational Behavior and Senior Seminar.

Research Interests

My research interests connect to my past global work experiences as a Vice President of Global Data Governance at Hasbro, Inc. The interest concerns the factors that influence cross-cultural competencies, cross-cultural intelligence; cross-cultural communication; managing diversity in the work place and the need for global leaders. Identifying both business and educational methods to enhance these skills in the future.
