About
Julia Bach is the coordinator of the Teaching Multilingual Learners minor in the Education Department at Wheaton College. She brings over 15 years experience teaching in K-12 settings as a content teacher, ML teacher and coordinator, and teacher educator. She has taught internationally and across the United States at multiple grade levels. At Wheaton, she teaches the SEI endorsement course for teacher candidates as well as classes in linguistics and second language acquisition, instructional methods, and supervises student teachers pursuing content licenses.
She is an active member of MATSOL, the professional organization for ML teachers and teacher educators in Massachusetts.
She encourages students to talk with her about their interest in teaching linguistically diverse learners, living a nomadic lifestyle, or trail running.
Teaching Interests
A former teacher, Julia Bach coordinates Wheaton’s Teaching Multilingual Learners program. She advises students in the Teaching Multilingual Learners minor and pursuing TESL certification. Her teaching focus is on language teaching and learning and developing a deep understanding for cultural and linguistic diversity.
